Improving Health in the Niagara Falls Community
Healthy Neighborhoods is a multi-year project centered around the North End of the city of Niagara Falls. Supported by the New York State Health Foundation, the initiative focuses on increasing access to healthy, affordable food; improving access to safe places where people can exercise and be active; and connecting children and adults to programs that encourage healthy behaviors.
As a member of the Healthy Foods Healthy People workgroup of the Creating a Healthier Niagara Falls Collaborative, we are an active partner in Healthy Neighborhoods. We are also a member of the steering committee leading the effort to develop a Local Food Action Plan for the city of Niagara Falls. Deep into the planning phase, we expect to publish an action-oriented plan in the fall of 2017.
