Double Up Food Bucks Program Coordinator
Kristie is the current Double Up Food Bucks program coordinator. Prior to joining Field and Fork Network, she helped lead a food sovereignty team in several communities throughout Indian Country with Indigenous Food and Agriculture Initiative. Her passion for improving food systems and increasing food access started from volunteering at a soup kitchen in her home city of Pittsburgh, PA. Since then, she has spearheaded two community gardens, worked at a farm to table training greenhouse with Goodwill, and served as a sustainable agriculture extension agent with Peace Corps Tanzania.
Food is incredibly important to her on a personal level as well. She loves cooking new recipes with locally grown whole foods and growing vegetables in creative ways in her small apartment. When she’s not cooking or working, you will likely find her with her cats, Nigel and Cordelia, or playing games with her friends.
