About Double Up Food Bucks NY: 

Double Up Food Bucks NY (Double Up), Field & Fork Network’s signature food access program, is an innovative healthy food incentive that doubles the buying power of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) recipients, helping families bring home more fruits and vegetables while boosting local agriculture and small business. Double Up started in 7 Western NY farmers markets in 2014 and is now serving SNAP recipients across 30+ New York counties at over 180+ program sites.  


What am I going to do? 

  • Provide strategic and operational oversight of Field & Fork Network’s Double Up Food Bucks program across New York State while executing a program expansion plan. 
  • Lead a high-performing team of program implementers and information manager to meet program objectives and evaluate impact. 
  • Ensure an effective and efficient system for quantitative data collection and analysis and manage the relationship with the independent evaluation partner.   
  • With the Communications team, ensure the development and execution of an impactful program promotional strategy to customers and partners. 
  • Identify and maintain key program partners across the state. 
  • Seek funding through grants, fundraising, and policy efforts to build sustainability of the program in partnership with the Executive Director.  


The Skill Set:  

  • BS or BA college degree required. 
  • 7 years of leadership and operations experience. 
  • Intimate knowledge of and experience in the food system. 
  • Exhibits the following competencies:

Embodies the ability to envision next steps for the program and anticipate and take initiative to predict and solve problems. A continuous learner who instills a high-performance culture of accountability and inclusion.

  • Effective Communicator: excellent written and verbal communication skills to be applied both within and outside the organization. Appreciation and understanding of Field & Fork Network’s mission and vision, and the ability to effectively communicate the priorities of the Double Up Food Bucks NY program.   
  • Organized: keeps track of status and manages multiple initiatives simultaneously. Ability to prioritize work and help in the prioritization of efforts of staff. Strong attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines and discretion in handling confidential information. 
  • Results-driven: drives agility and accountability to elevate team performance. Ensures integrity of program data to inform decision-making, evaluation, and reporting.  
  • Tech Savvy: proficiency with the Microsoft 365 platform applications and utilizes technology to stay in touch and effectively manage team activities. 


Bonus Points:  

  • Experience in working in a mission-focused non-profit environment. 
  • Experience in working in nutrition incentive programs. 
  • Knowledge and understanding of public health challenges in communities across New York State. 
  • Master Degree in Public Administration or Public Health.
